DAY 21: "I MassQ with who I imagine my family would be if we stopped believing blood and history were Dictator. I MassQ because rarely does healing come from a pill or a knife, but we all long for wholeness and it is our natural right. I MassQ for a wordless reason that lit up my heart one day when I finally decided to show up.
The MassQ therefore is about recovery. It is a tool for restoration of the natural; and what an irony it is to find something fundamental in the wearing of pigment on the face. Plenty of folks cover their face and in many different ways. More than once in my life I slipped on a smile, laid it over a boiling nameless thing I couldn’t express. And then to find a missing piece of myself in the ritual of putting on and wearing a MassQ, precisely because the MassQ lives in and arises from that timeless space hidden in reality where nothing is forgotten and nothing is lost. The MassQ is essential non-colonial discovery."
